Kendra Prine, '01
Kendra (Bailey) Prine (’01) graduated from West Virginia University Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s degree in Health Services Administration. After graduating, Kendra’s desire to continue her education led her to complete a master’s degree from the University of Charleston in Human Resources Management. She later completed a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Mountain State University.
Since 2006, Kendra has served as the Director of Human Resources for Hospice Care. In February of 2020, she took on new responsibilities as the Director of Human Resources and Volunteer Services. Through this role, Kendra coordinates almost 300 employees and 200 volunteers across 16 counties in West Virginia. She’s also had the honor of serving as Interim CEO during her tenure with Hospice Care.
Kendra has won the MVP award from Innovative Captive Strategies in both 2020 and 2021, the highest award the company grants. She has received several awards in benefits administration, employee engagement and clinical risk management.
Kendra is an active member of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) and has served on the Family Resource Network board.
Kendra says it is an honor to serve in an organization that brings comfort and peace to West Virginians during a difficult time in their lives.
Kendra and her husband Joe reside in Hurricane with the light of their life, their daughter Morgan. Joe is also a WVU Tech engineering alumnus and a veteran who served during wartime under Operation Enduring Freedom in Iraq. He currently serves as the Assistant Chief of Engineering at the VA Medical Center in Huntington, WV.
Kendra, Joe and Morgan love being a part of their church and spending time together as a family. In their free time, they love to travel and have been blessed to visit many areas around the world.

her professors, who set the tone for thinking outside the box, challenging her
and fostering her love for learning during her time at WVU Tech.
